Landmark Park

Landmark Park is a cultural and natural heritage museum located at 430 Landmark Dr, Dothan, AL 36302. It includes a one-room schoolhouse, Victorian gazebo, and 1890's farmstead. Founded in 1976, the Landmarks Foundation supports the museum through memberships. The park is owned by the Dothan Landmarks Foundation, which elects a board of directors to oversee the park. Members serve three-year terms.

The Dothan Landmarks Foundation is the largest nonprofit community organization in Southeast Alabama, Northwest Florida, and Southwest Georgia. The park is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The park also offers a variety of educational programs. More than 50,000 visitors visit the park annually, including over 14,000 schoolchildren on field trips.

The park offers hands-on experiences with historical farming methods, including demonstrations, reenactments, and hands-on activities. It has a small paid staff of seven employees, but relies on thousands of volunteer hours for its mission. Landmark Park also hires a full-time farm manager for its Agricultural Museum. And it hosts several special events each year. Its mission is to celebrate the history of the Chattahoochee Trace by preserving and promoting the area's history.

The park also hosts many events throughout the year. During the holiday season, it hosts free holiday events, including Christmas carols, Santa visits, and arts and crafts. Children will also enjoy a turn-of-the-century living history farm. Visitors can also purchase memberships to the park and take field classes. For those who are looking for a gift, the Interpretive Center has a wide variety of nature-related items. The park is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday is quiet hour.

The Landmark Park Dothan AL is a cultural attraction worth visiting. It's located on the northern edge of the city. This area is known for its Wiregrass region, a wild grass that grows in the pine woods of southern states. It is also a favorite food of gopher tortoises and quail. Although the Wiregrass doesn't grow north of South Carolina, the area has an intriguing culture and history that dates back hundreds of years.

The park also features an 18th century monument, which was erected in honor of the men of Eufaula who served in WWI. This statue is located adjacent to the First Baptist Church, and was dedicated in 1920. The United Daughters of the Confederacy presented the statue to the city. In the same year, the city had a confederate monument which towers over Eufaula Avenue and Broad Street.
